For a shrink tunnel, prepare the approved film and representative packs. For a band sealer, include actual filled pouches. For a vacuum packing machine, agree the chamber loading and inspection method. Substituting easier demonstration materials can hide application problems.
What should the commissioning trial cover?
Confirm the installed model and options against the purchase scope. Review start-up, normal running, stopping, approved fault recovery and shutdown with the supplier. Check the agreed guarding and protective functions using the supplier's safe procedure. Operators should not improvise access to heated or moving parts to make a demonstration run.
Run enough representative production to evaluate output, rejects and repeated handling. Include the hardest regular product and a normal changeover. Record actual results and unresolved items with responsibilities and dates. Commercial acceptance should follow the agreed contract and evidence, not an undocumented assumption about what commissioning includes.
